Halong Bay

Q – Why type of people go on cruises?
A – Overnight Cruise in Halong Bay is becoming more and more popular all the time. It appeals to a very wide mix of young and old, couples, families and singles. Our passengers like the good things in life, but are generally friendly, sociable individuals eager to experience new things. You're sure to find like-minded people onboard.

Q – When is the best time to visit Halong Bay?
A – Summer is a good time to cruise on Halong Bay but the best time of year is during the spring or autumn. Because the bay is situated in the northern part of the country, it can get colder in the fall and winter, and though you won't see extremes such as blizzards, it's still a lousy place to be when it gets cold.
Tip: You should bring a swim suit with you, night's swim in the phosphorescent water is also very nice (must be before your drinks)

Q – How far is that from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay?
A – Ha Long Bay is located 170 km away from Hanoi, this would take you about 3 – 3.5 hours for transfer to Ha Long city, Shuttle bus (Private car) normally leaves Hanoi by 8.30 am.
We will be hitting the road for Ha Long Bay through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life.
We also have a stop over in a humanity centre in Hai Duong province, where you can have a short break for breakfast, drink or buying souvenirs.

Q – Where does the tour depart from and return to?
A – All of our Halong Bay tours depart at Hanoi Opera House or pick up from your hotels as your request.

Q – Are cruises suitable for children?
A – Most cruise tours have developed supervised programs for children due to the increase in families choosing to cruise. Most cruise ships are happy to accept families (some ships do have exclusions and this will be detailed in the relevant brochures) infants are carried from the age of 6 months onwards on most cruises, but in some cases this is 1 year. These programs are designed to give your children a chance to go swimming, play sports, and get to know other children on the ship, while giving you an opportunity for some worry free rest and relaxation. Some children may be too young to participate in certain programs. Each ship will have its own range of facilities for your children

Q – Are there lifejackets onboard? Will they fit children?
A – The Cruise is fully equipped with all the latest safety gear and each cabin has lifejackets. There are also life buoys suitable for children

Q – Does the boat rock or shake during the night?
A – No. 1600 islands provide natural shelter in Halong bay, so it’s quite calm.

Q – What's available to do in the evening on the cruise?
A – Nightly activities are just as exciting as during the day. Test your tongue with wine in cool breeze under star on sunk desk, maybe stay up to watch a breathtaking sunrise over the sea, watch a famous movie, playing card games or try night fishing with boat crew.

Q – What if the weather turns very bad?
A – Style Travel JSC often see the weather forecast, if the weather turns bad, we have to call our clients to inform the situation whether it’s safe to go. Same with Halong Bay, we work closely with Cruise captains and will inform you before you leave Hanoi to Halong Bay so that you do not waste the day travelling on road.
If the weather turns bad while you are cruising, we could anchor our cruise at the hidden places, this is normally safe.

Q – Where do the boats anchor at night time?
A – After the afternoon cruise to see the hidden wonders of Halong Bay, Overnight boats will find a suitable place (within the allowance areas) to anchor for the night, this place is normally inside the very calm bay surrounded by the islands.
Tip: Before we drop the anchor for the night, you will probably see the sunset so get your camera ready to take these wonderful moments.

Q – What if I am celebrating my anniversary/birthday?
A – Cruise tours love to celebrate with you, so if you are celebrating a special occasion on the ship, we can add that information to your reservation in advance.

Q – What if I'm on a special diet?
A – Please advice on any special dietary requirements at the time of booking, as special meals are available to accommodate different dietary needs.

Q – What about tipping on the cruise?
A – On all Cruises gratuities are not included. You can give or not if you like or dislike the services

Q – Are there laundry services on board?
A – Almost all cruise ships have laundry facilities and many provide dry-cleaning services. There is, however, an additional charge for professional laundry and dry-cleaning services. Many ships also have self-service launderettes.

A – If you look on Vietnam map, you will see Halong lies on the Tonkin Gulf with lots of island that made up Halong Bay. With its calm water, Halong Bay really acts as a shield that stops all the violent wave, so it's hard to get sea sick in Halong Bay.
Only some of the routes that the junks cruise can be close to open sea that the junk was swinging up and down. But once the junk was surrounded by Halong Bay unique limestone islands, it became stable again.
Seasickness is not common on larger cruise ships as they are equipped with stabilizers designed to minimize the feeling of movement. If you should feel queasy, medicine is available from your cabin steward. If you are prone to motion sickness, you may want to consider consulting your doctor prior to departure.
Tip: When the junk gets swinging, do not walk around on boat to avoid seasick.

A – We will embark on the boat for a cruise amongst the islands and islets of this stunning Halong bay.
